Rafting in Acheloos (Aspropotamos). Section / Route: “Aspropotamos III”.

This route is made for the ones who cannot have enough for one day of rafting. The Aspropotamos I & Aspropotamos II routes done as one! With medium to high water level this route is a “must” for the ones who love this wonderful activity and seek something more than the usual! Four hours of exiting rafting with all possible aspects of technical interest and fun as well as an amazing natural environment! The comments of our clients suggest that this is everything that someone would wish out of a full day in the river! Duration in the river, 4.00′ to 4.30′ hours.

Price: 100.00€ p.p.

The meeting points for our rafting routes in the area are:

Alexiou bridge for the Aspropotamos II route and the Agia Paraskevi bridge for the Aspropotamos I & III. Both points are located in the Tria Potamia Aspropotamou area.

In order to have the total activity’s time for every route (from the moment of our meeting to the ready to return home time), add to the duration time in the river, 2.30’ hours for Aspropotamos I and 3.30’ hours for Aspropotamos II & III.

Rafting in Acheloos (Aspropotamos). Route “Aspropotamos II”.

Meet at the Alexiou bridge. This is the second part of the river (the actual continuation of Aspropotamos I). The rafting route starts at the Alexiou bridge and ends just before the Mesochora dam. Gradually, as we raft down the river, the valley widens more and more, revealing unique views of the surrounding mountain tops. Every turning holds a new visual surprise of natural beauty! Most usually, the water offers us a blue crystal clear color! This wonderful feeling of being in such a special place with a strong sense of isolation and untouched nature – rarely found in Europe today – accompany us to the end. We stop at one of the numerous white pebbled “beaches” along the ride for hot drinks and cookies, to admire the surroundings and take a long breath.

The route finishes a little before the Mesochora dam. Duration in the river, 2.45’ to 3.00’ hours with grade II and III rapids. You are transferred in our vehicles back to your cars at Alexiou bridge for your return, after you have enjoyed the appropriate picnic.

Rafting in Aspropotamos I section. River Acheloos (Aspropotamos), central Pindus.

Rafting in Acheloos (Aspropotamos). Route: “Aspropotamos I”.

Meet at the Agia Paraskevi bridge. This is the first part of the river starting close to its springs. The route is characterized by narrow passages, sharp turns with fast flow, and the need for precise maneuvers in quite a small space, so that you will be called by your guide to execute precise paddling too… almost continuously! Here, you will have a strong feeling of real participation all the way! A fast and exciting game to the end. We stop half the way to take our breath while enjoying hot drinks and cookies in a very nice spot.

We finish at Alexiou bridge, where a nice picnic in beautiful mountainous nature awaits us. We transfer you back to your cars for your return. Duration in the river, 1.15’ hours with grade III rapids.

Rafting in the “Tempi valley & the first part of the delta” route / section, river Pinios.

Rafting in the Pinios river. Route / Section: “Tempi valley & the first part of the delta”.

The route: Technically speaking, this rafting route is a mild one, but in extremely beautiful nature! Here is the place where very rich mythology and history meet together with great geological interest. This route is ideal for introduction to rafting, for very small and very large age indicating numbers… as well as a relaxed ride for everyone with main concern the admiration of natural beauty, as the flow takes you along… talking about nymphs and gods… Grade I and II and duration in the river 2.00′ to 2.30’ hours.

Where do we meet? The meeting point for this activity is at the west end of the Tempi Valley or at the Agia Paraskevi parking place inside the valley halfway its length. Then we go to the starting point at the river side together.

Price: 45.00€ p.p. in the summer months and 50.00€ p.p. in the Autumn, Winter & Spring months.

The total duration of the activity, from the meeting time to the “ready to return home” time, is 5.00’ to 5.30’ hours.

Rafting in the “Vernezi straits” section, river Pinios.

Rafting in the river Pinios. Route / Section: “The Vernezi straits”

How you come: The meeting point for the rafting in the Vernezi section/route is the village Parapotamos , very close to the river and the Vernezi section (20′ to 30′ from anyaccommodation in the area, 3.30’ hours from Athens and 1.30’ hours frohessaloniki). We meet at the village’s square.

Process of the activity: From the meeting point (Parapotamos), you are being transferred in our means of transport to the starting point by the river near the village of Rodia (20min), where we all get geared up for the ride (wet suits, anoraks e.t.c). After the beginners’ briefing, we get on board and the fun begins!

The ride takes about 1.15’ hours, with continuous grade III and some grade IV rapids and impressive waves (when the water level is at its medium to high). Along the ride, we stop for a hot drink and cookies.

We finish just a little before our base. Transferred to the base, where, after having changed into our dry clothes, we enjoy a picnic with barbequed sausages and other traditional Greek appetizers. Quite fulfilled, you are transferred back to Parapotamos for your return.

Price: 75.00€ p.p.

Note that the activity’s overall duration comes to 4.00’ or 4.30’ hours, including the gearing up time, local transfers, stops, picnic e.t.c.
