We finish at the area where the river meets the sea. A very relaxed and at the same time very interesting cycling route on Mountain Bikes, on asphalt at the beginning and dirt road after, takes us to the river’s mouth through its delta. Along the route we have the opportunity to observe a rich bird life, as well as cross a polymorphous terrain, changing from corn fields to forested river banks and canals. We reach the river’s mouth after about 12 km of fantastic cycling. The place is just unique, as isolated sandy beaches and lots of sea birds are waiting for us. In the summer months one cannot resist swimming in the river and the sea at almost the same time! The route can finish here or return to Stomio on our bikes, closing the circle via a different way. Duration of cycling, 1.30’to 2.30′ hours.

Max. gained height, 1470m. 12.5% asphalt road.

Quite a sharp ascent at the beginning, to 1160 in just 3.2 km, and after the next 6.1 km, we reach 1470m in a milder fashion. At this point we are only 110m below the lower Olympus’s highest summit Metamorphosis. The option to walk up to the summit and enjoy impressive views of the higher Olympus, will be proposed by the guides. Then, we go down to 1290m quite smoothly over 5 km and more sharply to 700m over the next 7.1 km. Here we meet the asphalt, which takes us down to 550m for another 3.6 km, facing east. At 550m, we turn south on a dirt road again and cycling in deep pine forest for 3.8 km, we reach P. Pori at 540m and the end of the route. This is an exceptionally beautiful route, with a strong sense of being at high altitude, while the presence of the gods’ mountain dominates the area! Duration of cycling 3.30′ hours.

From this point and for 4.1 km we go smoothly down to 1200m, at the eastern end (entrance for us) of the Belmas valley. As we enter the Valley, the deep forest gradually gives way to beautiful alpine meadows and for 3.4 km, we gain another 50m. The main conical summit of the mountain rises impressively above our heads to our right. While in the valley, the road turns towards the south climbing for 2.9 km to 1400m, the highest point of the route, enjoying great views ofthe eastern coast and Mt Pelion in the far distance towards the south. Then we come out of the forest to an open space with a great view of the southern slopes of the mountain, the Aegean sea and the coast! We start going downhill for 4.7 km to Melivia at 500m. 8.7 km of asphalt road take us very pleasantly down to 150m and Agia, the finishing point of our route, having completed the crossing of eastern Mt.
