We meet in Litochoro and transferred by road to the north side of the mountain via Dion and to the starting point of the walk, at the St. Konstantinos chapel, at 300m. Alternatively, we can meet at Dion or the St. Konstantinos chapel itself.

The path unfolds in very dense Mediterranean type forest on the left side of the Orlias canyon, with great view-points of the canyon’s waterfalls. After about 1.15′ hour walk we leave the main path to get into the canyon and visit the magnificent “red waterfall”! Here, in the wormer late spring and summer days you can also enjoy a swim in the crystal-clear pool, before we return back to the main path, to continue our hike. As we move higher and leave the Orlias canyon behind us, the Mediterranean type forest slowly gives way to a pine and beech tree forest.

After 2.30’ to 3.00’ hours of ascent, we reach the mountain refuge “Koromilia” at 1020m, where we have a light meal and a good rest. Our mini bus will take us back down to the starting point and your vehicles. 

A shorter alternative is, after enjoying the waterfall and pool, to return by the same way down to the starting point.

During a very nice walk through the conglomerate sandstone towers, you will admire nature’s and man’s creations. The path takes us to very impressive spots with little chapels carved in the rock. If the hike takes place in the morning hours, after the completion of the hike, there will be time to visit the two most important monasteries and their museums and get introduced to their very interesting history.

We meet in Litochoro or at the Prionia location and parking place at 1100m, where you are introduced to your guides, have the introductory briefing about the hike and the mountain itself, before we start off our walk. A stunningly beautiful place, dominated by impressive rock faces and enormous mountain pine trees. A well paved path will take us up to 2100m and the refuge A’ or Spilios Agapitos, in about 3.00’ το 3.30′ hours, a good time to cover 1000m of altitude. Unique views down to Enipeas gorge and the Aegean Sea, as well as the high summits above, accompany us all the way up to the refuge. The refuge is situated on a natural balcony with amazing views all around! We give time to ourselves to soak the energy and atmosphere of this very special place, while talking about the endless history of this mountain – symbol. The walk is classed as moderate.

From this point onwards the ascent / hike is optional and will depent upon the time and your will. After a good rest, a drink and a light lunch, we continue up to the higher parts of the mountain, closing the high summits. At about 2300m, we leave behind the last trees and move up in alpine terrain, aiming for Skala summit.

Once on Skala (after 2.30’ hours of demanding / challenging walk) we enjoy great views of the dominating rocky tower of Mytikas, the highest summit of the mountain, all the other high summits, and much beyond them…

Return to the refuge and Prionia via the same route (an other 3.30’ to 4.00′ hours). In order to fully complete this walk, there must be an early start and meeting at Prionia.

We meet at Litochoro, the main little town of the eastern side of Mt. Olympus. From Litochoro, transfer by road in your means of transport to the Prionia location or to the old monastery of Agios Dionysios(asphalt road), both at about 1100m, from where we start our walk. It is an amazingly beautiful place to cross, drowned in greenery, with Enipeas stream running along with us. On the way, we stop by one of the numerous crystal clear pools, where we have our lunch and hot drinks. Our guides will introduce you to the very interesting and unique in many cases flora of Mt. Olympus! We are at the very heart of the lower part of the mountain. We finish at the Mili Litochorou location just outside Litochoro, at 300m.

As a shorter and less demanding alternative, we can do the short version of the full route. We start from Prionia to Agios Dionysios little chapel / cave and back to the homonymus monastery.

For the full route the walk takes about 5.30’ to 6.30′ hours and is classed as moderate and for the short version, 2.30′ to 3.00′ hours.

We meet at the west end of the Tempi valley. From there we are transferred in our means of transport to the starting point of the hike. We follow a path, which takes us along and over the north cliff-side of the Tempi Valley, all the way to the other side of it, the eastern end. This is a high crossing of the valley with stunning views of the river down below and of Mt. Kissavos (Ossa) at the opposite south side, all the way along the trek. We will have a lot to talk about, as we cross this historic valley. The place holds amazing stories and myths from the very – very old times… We finish at a picturesque chapel where the picnic is waiting for us, at about 100m. A wonderful walk indeed!

The first part of the walk is downhill dirt road, the middle and longest main section is almost flat and the last part is downhill.

It takes 2.30’ to 3.00’ hours of moderate walk.

Overall activity’s duration from the meeting time to the “ready to go home” time, 4.30′ – 5.00′ hours, including the local road transfers and the picnic meal.

We meet in the village of Omolio. This is a loop trek along the sides of the so called “great canyon” (Megas Lakos). We start the walk at almost sea level and move along the western side of the canyon up to where it narrows distinctively at 500m. Here, we pass over to the east side, stop for the picnic and a good rest and then continue the return walk, enjoying great views of the western side with its high rocky walls. It is a walking route which progresses, almost entirely, in a wild terrain with a strong sense of isolation, in spite of the fact that the canyon is close to the E 75 highway and the “civilization”… 5.00’ hours of Moderate / Demanding walk, with the stops.

We meet at Karytsa  or (Mt Kissavos  / Mt Olympus Outdoor Activities Center. “Where we meet”, “How you come”). From Karytsa we transfer in our means of transport to the Kalypso II canyon ( canyoning finishing point) A short walk up the side of the canyon takes us inside it (20′) and another 15′ up, inside the canyon, takes us to the great waterfall and pool. An amazing place indeed! A 75m waterfall in front of our own eyes leaves us speechless! After enjoying the place to the out-most taking photos jumping and swimming in the pool, having lunch hot drinks and cookies, we return to our vehicle for the transfer back to Karytsa.

Over all walking time 1.30′ hours moderate to demanding.

For any of these routes, we meet at our base (“Mt. Kissavos / Mt. Olympus Outdoor Activities Center”) or at the Arioprino location. Three main, long paths start at almost sea level, two from Stomion and one from Karytsa. They climb up the north east slopes of the mountain, through dense forest for the first 2/3^rds of their length and through alpine terrain for their last 1/3^rd to the summit (1978m). Huge birch and oak trees as well as fir trees dominate this amazingly rich forest, with all kinds of herbs and mushrooms, and lots of running water especially in spring, form the picture of this magnificent side of the mountain and its walks.

The full ascent from the very start to the summit, takes 5.00’ to 7.00’ hours of moderate walk at 55.00 Euros p.p.

It is possible to cut down the length of the routes if you wish, by starting your walk at a higher point or make circular routes covering special spots, starting at 35.00 Euros p.p. We can make our proposals according to your requirments.

This is a shorter alternative to the summit of Mt. Kissavos. We meet again at the village of Spilia from where we are transfered by road to the Kanalos location at 1500m. From this point onwards, we start the walk to the summit. The first part of it, is up the north west slopes of the mountain and then, in a south west direction, we move with great views up the eastern ridge, which leads us to the summit. We return by the same route back to Kanalos for our return.

The walk is classed as easy to moderate and takes 3.30′ to 4.00′ hours, go and come back.

We meet at the village of Spilia and the walk starts from here. The route progresses on the south west slopes of the mountain. It starts at 850m and finishes at 1978m at the summit of Prophet Elias. It is a very interesting route with great views all along, not to speak of the view from the summit itself, where you are rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the region including the Aegean Sea, the Plain of Thessaly, Mount Olympus, Mount Pelion, the Pinios River delta and in clear weather – not very unlikely – the huge pyramid of Mt. Athos emerging out of the sea in the very distance to the east.  After a short descent to the Kanalos location at 1500m, you are taken back to Spilia for your return.

The route takes approximately 4.30’ to 5.30’ hours of moderate to demanding walk.
