We meet at Parapotamos village from where you are transferred to our rafting base. Here, we have created a play-ground of high ropes and other games like climbing, abseiling & fly-foxing, in a green natural setting, at the riverside, where apart from getting enjoyment, you improve your sense of team-work and kind competition.

And of course, being next to the river and the Vernezi route, the most obvious to follow could not be anything else but rafting.

We meet at the riverside village of Paleopyrgos (at the bridge over the river, just outside the village. This is where our route starts from). Canoeing in the Pinios’s river delta, looks to us that it is our most popular river canoeing route! Probably because it fits nicely in everyone’s likes and taste, for old and young, even very young, families, individuals and large groups! It is a technically mild ride without great promises of adrenaline, yet, it offers amazing nature, relaxation and great sense of tranquility! After all, the arrival at the river’s mouth could be easily described as a rare and very impressive experience that everyone should live through! It does not ask for anything from you, it only gives and it is so plentiful! A great reserve and shelter for a rich bird life, rich vegetation and tree lined riverbanks will lead you through the river’s mouth into the open Aegean sea.

During the summer and autumn months, the river’s delta section is supplied with the water which comes almost entirely from the Tempi valley’s springs. The result of this is an extremely clear blue/green water color, something not very easily expected for a big river. We have a brake while still in our canoes, for hot or cold tea and cookies, allowing the gentle current to take over… A beautiful isolated sandy beach and lots of sea birds welcome us in this special place, where the river meets with the sea! A picnic lunch welcomes us too… Needn’t say that a swim in the sea or in the river or in both is inevitable, even for the most hydrophobic ones, especially during the summer time. After we have finished with the picnic and everything else, you are transferred in our means of transport back to your vehicle for the return.

At Parapotamos rafting base.

We meet at Parapotamos village (about how we come is described in “Rafting” “The Vernezi route. How you come”). Here, in our rafting base, we have created a play ground of high ropes and other games, in a green beautiful setting, at the riverside. Being next to the river, we can combine the high rope activities and the various water events pretty well. It is a youngster’s paradise!

At Peristera location.

Peristera location is, as described in the rock climbing section, very close to our Kissavos base, from where we start the activity and we meet here or at Arioprino location. The site is ideal for a combination of orienteering events and games, impressive abseiling in front of a great cave entrance opening, rock climbing and a looooong!…fly-foxing! All these in an absolutely natural  environment!

Meet in the Parapotamos Village. It is again the same river section as in the rafting, the Vernezi route, so details about how you come and about the activity itself, llook at “Rafting – The Vernezi route. How you come, details about the activity”. The activity takes place towards the end of the rafting season, with the water volume below medium level, so that the participants with a previous experience in inflatable kayaking can have the enjoyment and fun that this interesting route can give. The numerous grade II and III passages and rapids of this section make sure that you have an unforgettable experience! Duration, in the river, 1.30′ to 2.00’ hours.

For the total time of the above activitiy add another 3.00′ hours to the duration in the river, i.e 4.30’ to 5.00’ hours total from the meeting time to the “ready to return home” time.

We meet and start off the ride at the seaside village of Stomion, and an 8km very pleasant bike ride through the fields and side streams of the Pinios river delta, takes us to the main river and the starting point of our canoe ride.

Duration of cycling, 2.00′ hours.

Rich vegetation, tree-lined riverbanks and a great variety of wild life, will accompany us to the mouth of the river and the open Aegean sea. We end up at an isolated beach for a swim and a picnic barbecue.

Duration of paddling 2.30′ to 2.00′ hours. We can either go back to Stomio on the bikes or by road in our means of transport. Well, the choice is yours.

Total activity’s duration: From the time we meet to the “ready to go home” time, 6.00′ to 6.30′ hours.

The route: Technically speaking, this rafting route is a mild one, but in extremely beautiful nature! Here is the place where very rich mythology and history meet together with great geological interest. This route is ideal for introduction to rafting, for very small and very large age indicating numbers… as well as a relaxed ride for everyone with main concern the admiration of natural beauty, as the flow takes you along… talking about nymphs and gods… Grade I and II and duration in the river 2.00′ to 2.30’ hours.

Where do we meet? The meeting point for this activity is at the west end of the Tempi Valley or at the Agia Paraskevi parking place inside the valley halfway its length. Then we go to the starting point at the river side together.

Price: 45.00€ p.p. in the summer months and 50.00€ p.p. in the Autumn, Winter & Spring months.

Route description: We meet at the riverside village of Paleopyrgos, in Pinios river delta (more specifically at the river’s bridge just outside the village). That’s where we start our sea kayaking journey.

Rich vegetation and bird-life accompany us to the mouth of the river and the Aegean Sea, where we arrive after about 1,30’ hours of relaxed paddling. During the summer months, this part of the river is supplied almost entirely with the waters of the Tempi valley’s springs, giving a clear magnificent green / blue water flow! The location where the river meets the sea is of unique natural beauty and interest. Here, we stop for drinks and cookies, as the place itself calls us to get out of our vessels. One cannot easily resist a swim in the sea or the river, especially during the warm months. After we have enjoyed the most of what this special place can offer, we continue our sea kayaking journey in the sea, along an endless isolated sandy beach, with a panoramic view of Mt. Kissavos, Tempi valley and Mt. Olympus all along! We reach the little seaside village of Alexandrini after 1.30’ hours of paddling, where a nice picnic is waiting for us at the beach.

Note that this is a full day activity, including the preparation, the stops for swimming and the picnic lunch. How you come: The meeting point for the rafting  in the Vernezi section/route is the village Parapotamos, very close to the river and the Vernezi section (20′ to 30′ from anyaccommodation in the area, 3.30’ hours from Athens and 1.30’ hours frohessaloniki).  We meet at the village’s square.

Process of the activity: From the meeting point (Parapotamos), you are being transferred in our means of transport to the starting point by the river near the village of Rodia (20min), where we all get geared up for the ride (wet suits, anoraks e.t.c). After the beginners’ briefing, we get on board and the fun begins!

Flat Crossing or Loop route (Choice). Total length ranges from 13 to 25 km.

Meet in Stomio at the village’s seafront, at the north-east feet of Mt. Kissavos (Ossa) and the starting point of the biking route. We finish at the area where the river meets the sea. A very relaxed and at the same time very interesting cycling route on Mountain Bikes, on asphalt at the beginning and dirt road after, takes us to the river’s mouth through its delta. Along the route we have the opportunity to observe a rich bird life, as well as cross a polymorphous terrain, changing from corn fields to forested river banks and canals. We reach the river’s mouth after about 12 km of fantastic cycling. The place is just unique, as isolated sandy beaches and lots of sea birds are waiting for us. In the summer months one cannot resist swimming in the river and the sea at almost the same time! The route can finish here or return to Stomio on our bikes, closing the circle via a different way. Duration of cycling, 1.30’to 2.30′ hours.
