Canyoning in Rakopotamos

Rakopotamos Canyon – Mt. Mavrovouni.

Start 340m – Finish 0m – Drop 340m.


Mt. Mavrovouni is the continuation of Mt. Kissavos to the south. Rakopotamos lays in the very north of Mavrovouni.


Unique formations of limestone, created by the continuous endless water flow, take our breath away, after every turning along the route. The impressive contrast of the greenery against the white limestone, takes you to an other world of colors. Being a long canyon, it is separated in two sections. Rako I and Rako II.


One can enjoy marvelous off path walking between each abseil of every section, as well as swimming and jumping in large deep pools. 4 abseils in the smaller first section and 6 in the longer second one, from 5m the shortest to 40m the longest. Rich water throughout the year.


Duration 4.00’ hours for Rako I and 6.00’ to 6.30’ for Rako II. Both sections can be done as one by the very keen in 8.00' to 10.00’ hours, or in two days with overnight camp in the canyon.

Prices / Offers

The above prices concern individuals and small groups of up to 8-10 persons. For larger or much larger groups, the prices can be reduced, after our mutual agreement.

If you’re a group of at least 4 people, normaly, you have the flexibility to book any activity at any time you choose. Otherwise you book within another group.

In case of being less than the above minimum of 4 persons, and still no other group available to join in, then, in order to do the chosen activity, the sum of the 4 persons minimum has to be paid.

For the activity of rafting, for every group of 8 persons one person is for free.
